David Chadwick on General Election: Time to kick the Conservatives out of Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe
The Liberal Democrats came a close second place at the last General Election in 2019 and are in pole position to beat the Conservatives this time, Labour came a distant third place. The seat has historically swapped between the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives since the 80s, with the Lib Dems last winning the seat in 2019.
Polling shows the seat is expected to be a close race between the two parties yet again.
The Liberal Democrats are on the up after beating the Conservatives in the 2022 local elections in Powys and winning four stunning parliamentary by-election victories since the last General Election, including in neighbouring Shropshire.
Liberal Democrat candidate David Chadwick will be campaigning for action to save the NHS, tackle the cost of living crisis, back local farmers and end the sewage scandal.
Responding to Rishi Sunak calling a General Election, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe, David Chadwick said:
“This election is a once-in-a-generation chance to kick the Conservatives out of power and finally deliver the change our area so desperately needs.
“It’s clear that only the Liberal Democrats can beat the Conservatives in Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe, it’s neck and neck here and every vote will count. We beat them just two years ago in the Powys Council Elections and the seat has always been a close contest between us and the Conservatives over the last 40 years.
“People are telling me they’re fed up with years of chaos and neglect under this out-of-touch Conservative government.
“After years of struggling to get a GP appointment, soaring rents and mortgages and our rivers being polluted by filthy sewage, it’s time for a change across our constituency.
“As the next MP for Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe, I would stand up for local health services, demand better for our farming community, tackle the sewage scandal and be a strong voice for our community in Parliament.”
