| Welsh language and cultureThe Welsh language is an inherent strand of the fabric of our country. We believe that everyone should be enabled to speak their native language, that everyone should be able to access good quality Welsh public services, and that learning Welsh should be open to all.

| Rydym am wneud y canlynol: • Sicrhau bod pob plentyn yng Nghymru yn gallu cael addysg Gymraeg o safon, gan sicrhau bod Cynlluniau Strategol y Gymraeg mewn Addysg yn diwallu anghenion cymunedau. • Diogelu cyllid ac annibyniaeth olygyddol darlledwyr cyfrwng Cymraeg, gan gynnwys ystyried datganoli ffi’r drwydded i Gymru. • Gwella mynediad at wasanaethau cyhoeddus yn Gymraeg drwy hyrwyddo model ‘y cynnig gweithredol’ gan ei gwneud yn bosibl iddo gael ei weithredu’n systemataidd ac yn effeithiol ym mhob gwasanaeth cyhoeddus. • Gwneud asesiadau o’r effaith ar yr iaith mewn perthynas â datblygiadau arfaethedig yn ofyniad statudol cyn y rhoddir caniatâd cynllunio, gan gynnwys gwneud yr iaith yn ystyriaeth berthnasol wrth benderfynu ar geisiadau cynllunio lle y bo’n briodol. | We want to: • Ensure that all children in Wales are able to access quality Welsh-language education, ensuring that Welsh in Education Strategic Plans meet the needs of communities. • Protect the funding and editorial independence of Welsh language broadcasters, including considering the devolution of the licence fee to Wales. • Improving access to public services in Welsh by promote the ‘active offer’ model for, enabling it to be implemented systematically and effectively across public services. • Make language impact assessments of proposed developments a statutory requirement before planning permission is granted, including making the language a material consideration in determining planning applications where appropriate. |
